Louis Dreyfus Company has inaugurated a new specialty feed lecithin production line in Tianjin, powered entirely by renewable electricity. The facility aims to meet rising global demand for high-efficiency, plant-based feed additives.
Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has started operations at a new automated production line for specialty feed lecithin at its existing oilseed crushing plant in Tianjin, China. The facility, developed with support from LDC’s R&D center in Shanghai, runs on 100% renewable electricity and is designed to serve the growing demand for enzymatically treated and low-viscosity lecithin in China and international markets.

“Leveraging LDC’s processing and innovation capabilities, our new production line will enable us to offer customized solutions tailored to feed industry requirements,” said James Zhou, LDC’s Global Head of Food & Feed Solutions and Chief Commercial Officer. “This aligns with our strategic growth plans to expand into downstream markets with more value-added products.”
The new line supports efficient nutrient absorption and lower feed costs through enzymatically treated lecithin, while low-viscosity lecithin offers easy blending without the need for heating or special storage.
Shengshu Huang, LDC’s Chief Technology Officer for North Asia, added, “Our new automated production line reflects our commitment to accelerate the commercialization of advanced solutions that respond to the evolving needs and expectations of China’s farming industry.”
