Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz
President of the Machinery Exporters’ Association (MAİB)
Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz, President of the Machinery Exporters’ Association (MAİB), announced that Turkish milling machinery manufacturers have secured the second global position by achieving a historic export record of $331 million within a $2.6 billion global market. Yılmaz emphasized that the IDMA Istanbul stands as the most powerful driving platform to showcase the Turkish machinery sector’s technological superiority and crown this outstanding global success.
Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz, President of Türkiye’s Machinery Exporters’ Association (MAİB), shared insights regarding the historic global progress of Turkish milling machinery manufacturers, their market diversification targets, and strategic expectations from domestic producers. Highlighting the scale and vision achieved by the sector, Yılmaz delivered key evaluations on the subject.
Yılmaz stated that Türkiye holds a proud position as the global runner-up in the milling machinery sector, which commands a global trade volume of approximately $2.6 billion. Pointing out that the sector surpassed the $300 million threshold for the first time in history in 2025, reaching a massive export record of $331 million, the MAİB President noted that they aim to increase market diversification to sustain this strong growth momentum. In line with this strategy, while anchoring their presence deeply in traditional stronghold markets such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Iraq, the sector aims to penetrate major global buyer markets including India, the USA, and Brazil.

However, Yılmaz sent a clear message to domestic manufacturers, reminding them that protecting domestic strongholds is a necessity while expanding global market share. Highlighting that the sharp surge in milling machinery imports, jumping by over 90 percent to reach $44 million in 2025, serves as a warning for the entire industry, Yılmaz stated: “As a country that delivers turnkey modern plants and exports engineering across the globe, we expect our domestic flour and feed producers to rely on the high quality, efficiency, and engineering of Turkish machinery rather than turning to foreign imports.”
OUR POWERFUL GLOBAL DRIVER: IDMA ISTANBUL
Emphasizing that international trade exhibitions are the most valuable showcases for achieving global expansion goals and uniting domestic manufacturers with international buyers under a shared vision, Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz recalled the strong presence at the IDMA Russia exhibition held in Moscow in May with 32 companies, which successfully demonstrated the industry’s high engineering capabilities in grain, feed, and milling technologies.
Underlining that the IDMA Istanbul Exhibition is the primary vehicle for this vision in Türkiye, Yılmaz noted that this major organization “holds vital significance as the global showcase for our milling machinery sector.” Expressing her confidence that the exhibition will serve as a highly strategic commercial platform enabling exporters to access new continents and buyers, MAİB President Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz emphasized that this highly productive event, which demonstrates the technological edge of the Turkish machinery sector to the world and solidifies a shared vision, will deliver a powerful and positive drive to the sector’s global objectives.
