The fourth issue of exhibition Iran FeedExpo was held in Tehran. Organizers expressed they are satisfied with the interest of the visitors and they wanted to continue and grow the exhibition every year.

A feed exhibition was organized in Tehran in the shade of trade wars and imposition of sanctions to Iran by US President Donald Trump. The representatives of international companies, as well as Iranian feed and animal health companies, were present at the exhibition that is organized with the support of the Tehran government and private sector initiative. The three-day exhibition took place on 11-13 August. Feed Planet magazine which attended the organization in order to feel the pulse of the Iran feed sector was granted an award in Tehran.
The three-day exhibition started with an opening ceremony. Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, representatives from companies, visitors, doyens of country’s agriculture and livestock industries and press attended the organization. Ministry of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojati did not attend the ceremony but he sent an official message. Depending on the food safety definition of the World Bank and FAO’s (UN Food and Agriculture Organization) data, Hojati pointed out that the world population will reach 9 billion in 2050 and the need for animal protein will double by then. The minister also expressed that he wished the exhibition will be beneficial for the competition conditions and food safety of the country.
Ministry of Agriculture official Dr. Morteza Rezaei who attended the ceremony made a speech. Rezaie said that the calculations show that around 70-75 percent of the total costs in animal husbandry were related to feed and this figure shows the importance of the fed industry. He highlighted that Iran FeedExpo 2018 is aiming to express the significance of the feed industry. “I would like to take this opportunity to express my hopes that know-how transfer with regard to livestock, poultry and aquaculture feed industry will take place in Iran.
Director of Iran Veterinary Organization Dr. Alireza Rafiei, Iran FeedExpo Secretary Touraj Saremi and Mehdi Masoudi, the founder of the exhibition were also among the speechmakers of the ceremony. They pointed out the significance of the feed sector and expressed their hopes that such exhibitions will be beneficial for the feed industry in Iran.
INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION
Various companies attended the exhibition that took place in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The representatives of international companies such as Bühler, Evonik, Andritz, Biochem, and Famsun as well as Iranian machinery companies and feed and additive manufacturers were present in the fair. The booth of Feed Planet magazine drew heavy attention in the exhibition that attracted a large number of visitors. Scores of company representatives and visitors visited our booth.
A wide range of questions was posed to our magazine such as the content and design of the magazine and IDMA Exhibition. Candid moments took place in the dialogues and the visitors who asked for a recommendation about animal science education in Turkey enlivened the organization from our point of view.
