General Manager
Over its 12-year uninterrupted journey, PETZOO Eurasia has evolved far beyond a trade fair to become the global showcase for Türkiye’s pet industry. Evaluating the 2026 vision of the exhibition, expanding export networks, and the latest trends in nutrition technologies for Feed Planet, Selçuk Çetin, General Manager of Ulusal Fuarcılık, emphasized that Türkiye’s pet food sector is poised to become a global gamechanger through its high production quality, R&D investments, and innovative products.
What would you like to say about PETZOO Eurasia’s contribution to the Turkish pet products sector?
Held uninterrupted for 12 years, PETZOO Eurasia is not merely a trade fair; it is a strategic meeting point that accelerates the growth of the Turkish pet sector. Having hosted over a thousand companies and hundreds of thousands of professional visitors to date, our organization has made substantial contributions, particularly in gaining international visibility for domestic manufacturers.
Many Turkish brands established their first export connections under the PETZOO umbrella, expanded their distribution networks here, and transformed into brands competing in the global market. Especially in recent years, we clearly observe that Turkish companies have demonstrated a remarkably strong development in terms of quality, packaging, production technology, and brand perception. PETZOO Eurasia stands as the global showcase for this major transformation.
What is PETZOO Eurasia’s 2026 strategy in line with its vision of becoming the “Eurasian supply hub”?
Istanbul serves as a natural trade bridge connecting Europe, the Middle East, the Balkans, Central Asian Republics, and North Africa. Thanks to our city’s direct flight advantages, logistical accessibility, and our country’s strong manufacturing infrastructure, we position PETZOO Eurasia not just as a regional event, but as a global trading platform.
In 2026, we are specifically expanding the scale of our Hosted Buyer program. Our goal is to bring our exhibiting companies together not only with general visitors, but directly with professional global buyers holding purchasing authority. Furthermore, through international media partnerships, global digital promotion campaigns, and joint efforts with industry associations, we advance the export-oriented structure of the exhibition every year.
FROM EURASIA TO GLOBAL MARKETS: THE 2026 EXPORT ROUTE
Which specific countries and target markets are you focusing on this year?
In our 2026 edition, the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe, and Central Asian Republics rank among our priority target markets. Simultaneously, our strategic efforts to increase the number of professional buyers and distributors coming from Europe continue without slowing down.
Looking on a country-by-country basis; Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Romania, Poland, Germany, and the Balkan countries are among the regions we are paying special attention to this year. Additionally, high-level discussions aimed at developing new partnerships in the Asian market particularly with China and Southeast Asian countries are ongoing.

What is PETZOO Eurasia’s role in terms of pet food and feed processing technologies?
The pet food sector continues to be one of the strongest and most dynamic categories of our exhibition. Pet food manufacturers, feed additive companies, raw material suppliers, and brands operating in production technologies hold a very large share in PETZOO Eurasia.
Today, the global industry competes not just over finished product sales, but through ingredient quality, functional nutrition, sustainable raw materials, and advanced processing technologies. PETZOO Eurasia is positioned as the closest follower and driver of this industrial transformation. At the fair, our exhibitors and visitors will have the opportunity to closely examine next-generation ingredients, innovative production technologies, smart packaging solutions, and global trends.
FROM CONTRACT MANUFACTURING TO HI-TECH PREMIUM BRANDING
How do you evaluate the position of Turkish pet food manufacturers in global competition?
Turkish manufacturers have made a truly tremendous leap in recent years through R&D and production investments. They have become shining stars in the global market, particularly with their high production capacity, European-standard quality management, rapid delivery advantages, and competitive pricing structures.
In addition, we observe that Turkish companies now stand out not only through contract manufacturing , but also with their unique brand identity, packaging design, and capability to develop premium/super-premium product lines. Today, many Turkish brands are featured on the shelves of the most prestigious supermarket chains and pet shops worldwide, including in Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. We project that this global branding momentum will accelerate even further in the coming years.
How will next-generation nutrition technologies and innovative products be featured at the exhibition?
In 2026, our visitors will have the chance to explore functional pet foods, veterinary-backed specialized products, premium series with natural and organic ingredients, supplement-based nutrition solutions, and innovative products stemming from sustainable production models all under one roof.
In particular, the rising “wellness and clean label” trend in human food is now directly shaping the pet industry as well. Grain-free products, high animal protein contents, freeze-dried technologies, and supportive nutritional supplements will take center stage at the exhibition. PETZOO Eurasia will continue to be the most productive commercial platform where these innovations are discovered by both manufacturers and global procurement executives.

How do you see Türkiye’s future in the global pet economy?
Türkiye is a prime candidate to become a “gamechanger” actor in the global pet economy, thanks to its modern manufacturing infrastructure, geopolitical advantages, and continuously growing domestic market. While the rising awareness and rate of pet ownership in our country expands the domestic market, our manufacturers’ export vision crowns this growth on a global scale.
As PETZOO Eurasia, we sit at the very center of this ecosystem. Our goal is not simply to organize a trade fair, but to carry the Turkish pet sector to a more visible, reputable, and competitive standing in the international arena. When combined with Istanbul’s strength as a regional trade hub, we fully believe that Türkiye will become one of the most critical players in the global pet economy in the near future.
