Türkiye has revised the application window for its reduced 12% customs duty on oilseed sunflower imports, advancing the autumn start date to October 1.
According to Presidential Decree No. 11644 published in the Official Gazette on August 27, 2026, amendments were made to the Import Regime Decision. The regulation adjusts the seasonal customs tariff schedule for oilseed sunflower seed (HS Codes 1206.00.91.00.19 and 1206.00.99.00.19).
Under the updated decree:
- Reduced Tariff Windows (12%): Will apply from January 1 to June 15, and from October 1 to December 31.
- Standard Tariff Window (20%): Will remain at 20% during the domestic harvest period between June 16 and September 30 to protect local agricultural production.
The decision effectively brings forward the duty-reduced import period, which previously opened later in the fourth quarter. For the compound feed sector, where sunflower meal serves as a critical protein source, the early adjustment is expected to ease raw material supply chains and buffer input costs heading into the final quarter of the year.
