Ofis Yem has secured a €25 million loan from the EBRD to support investments in energy efficiency, inclusivity, and low-emission feed production. The funding will back facility expansions, green energy projects, and efforts to increase female employment in the Turkish feed sector.

Türkiye’s leading compound feed producer, Ofis Yem, signed a €25 million loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on May 28, 2025, in Istanbul. The financing will boost the company’s initiatives in sustainable feed manufacturing, gender inclusivity, and supply chain efficiency.

“Our collaboration with the EBRD is not only a milestone for Ofis Yem and the sector, but also for our country,” said Cem Taşkaldıran, Board Member at Ofis Yem. “This loan supports not just new investments but also our future vision. We aim to lead a sustainable and inclusive transformation in the feed sector through energy efficiency, climate-friendly practices, and increased female employment.”

The loan will fund the construction of a new feed facility in Samsun, licensed storage centers in Samsun and Adana, and a 3.2 MW solar power plant in Çorum. The solar plant alone will meet 6.7% of the company’s annual electricity needs, preventing around 1,845 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. EBRD Agribusiness Head Natalia Zhukova emphasized the significance of low-carbon feed production in reducing livestock emissions and meeting Türkiye’s climate targets.

Ofis Yem operates four factories across Türkiye: Ankara (75 t/h), Adana (80 t/h), Manisa (60 t/h), and Kars (35 t/h). Through a new internship program in collaboration with Başkent University, the company also plans to raise its female employment rate to 20% by 2031. By utilizing agricultural by-products unsuitable for human consumption, Ofis Yem contributes to food security and circular economy practices. It will continue reporting its Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions transparently, aligned with GRI standards.
