The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) recently honored 73 graduates from its Feed Industry Institute (FII) in Minneapolis. The event featured expert-led sessions, networking opportunities, and a social outing.

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) celebrated 73 graduates from its biennial Feed Industry Institute (FII) in Minneapolis, Minn., in mid-June. Over four days, attendees participated in an intensive educational forum featuring 24 expert speakers from across the animal food industry. Topics ranged from nutrition and feed ingredients to processing and industry regulations.

“We are thrilled that FII returned to an in-person format this year, which allowed for more engaging and interactive sessions,” said Paul Davis, Ph.D., AFIA’s director of quality, animal food safety and education. “The excitement of reconnecting face-to-face and the dynamic exchange of knowledge truly enhanced the overall experience, marking a successful and memorable event for all involved.”

The event included networking opportunities and a social outing to a Minneapolis Twins baseball game. Adam Fahrenholz, Ph.D., from North Carolina State University, emphasized the importance of the topics covered during his session, “Effects of Processing on Quality and Efficiency,” highlighting the impact of decisions made at every stage of feed manufacturing.

The FII concluded with a graduation ceremony, where attendees received certificates of completion. The AFIA extended thanks to its sponsors and the nutrition committee for planning the event. The next FII is scheduled for 2026.
