Kırali also highlighted the rapid increase in licensed warehouse capacity. He noted that the capacity, which was around 4 million tons when operations began, had risen more than threefold to 12.2 million tons, equivalent to approximately 30% of Turkey’s grain production. Transactions were conducted in all EWR representing 17 products, including wheat, corn, barley, and sunflower seeds, which are open for trading on TMEX.
Emphasizing the expanding range of products traded, Kırali stated that with quality criteria established by the Ministry of Trade, canola and white cheese were added to the list of tradable products. Furthermore, new financial products are expected to be introduced to the sector through completed international collaborations and AI-supported projects.
TMEX's 2025 targets include launching a futures market and introducing new contracts based on EWR.
