The Ministry of Agriculture paid a visit to TÜDKİYEB to outline the 2025 goals for the small ruminant livestock sector. Key issues in the sector were discussed, and potential solutions were explored during the meeting.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gümen visited the Turkish Sheep and Goat Breeders’ Association (TÜDKİYEB) to address the objectives and strategies for the small ruminant livestock sector in 2025. During the visit, critical challenges in the sector and proposed solutions were examined. TÜDKİYEB President Nihat Çelik stated that a comprehensive roadmap had been established for 2025, emphasizing the support provided by Deputy Minister Gümen and his delegation to the sector.

Highlighting issues such as a shortage of shepherds, the need to increase livestock subsidies, and insufficient progress in National Breeding Projects, Çelik noted that significant advances are anticipated in small ruminant livestock in 2025. He also mentioned receiving promising messages from Deputy Minister Gümen that would ease sectoral challenges.
Çelik expressed that the visit was a morale booster for the sector. At the conclusion of the meeting, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Deputy Minister Gümen for his contributions to the sector.
