Commercial dairies in Turkey saw a 6.5% year-on-year increase in collected cow milk in June, crossing 995,000 tonnes despite a slight monthly drop.

According to TurkStat’s June 2026 dairy production report, commercial dairies collected 995,463 tonnes of cow milk, marking a 6.5% year-on-year increase compared to June 2025. On a monthly basis, raw milk collection declined by 2.7% from May’s 1,022,587 tonnes.

All major dairy product categories posted robust double-digit annual growth in June: cheese production rose 8.5% to 71,644 tonnes, drinking milk increased 11.7% to 139,778 tonnes, yogurt expanded 14.1% to 131,876 tonnes, drinking yogurt (ayran and kefir) grew 11.4% to 98,486 tonnes, and butter/ghee output jumped 11.8% to 9,690 tonnes.

Cumulatively, during the January–June period, collected cow milk reached 5.85 million tonnes, up 1.5% year-on-year. For the first six months, drinking milk (+9.5%), yogurt (+9.4%), ayran and kefir (+9.4%), and cheese (+3.7%) registered overall gains, while butter and ghee output dropped 2.5%.

TurkStat noted that the statistics cover integrated dairy processing plants and exclude ice cream and milk-based dessert manufacturers.
