3rd LifeStart Calf Symposium to unveil pioneering technology in calf nutrition, promising transformative solutions for common digestive challenges in dairy calves.

Trouw Nutrition, Nutreco's livestock feed division, in collaboration with the University of Nottingham's School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, is set to host the 3rd LifeStart Calf Symposium on 17-18 October at the East Midlands Conference Centre. The event aims to gather global experts in calf nutrition, development, animal behavior, and farm management to share the latest research and breakthroughs.

Previously, two symposiums shed light on ruminant science and its practical applications. This year's assembly is expected to be enriched by presentations from world-leading authorities in the field.

A major highlight of the symposium will be the introduction of a groundbreaking technology. This innovation stems from research into the fat composition in milk and its role in priming the calf's digestive system for starter feed. This new understanding could offer solutions to common digestive challenges in calves, such as acidosis and scouring.

In addition to the key presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in on-farm workshops and hear from experts on optimal environmental conditions for calf rearing, strategies for risk reduction, and the potential of precision nutrition to improve calf rearing outcomes.

The symposium promises to share insights and discoveries that could shape the future of calf nutrition and management.
