Spanish silo manufacturer Simeza celebrates five decades grain storage technology.

Simeza, the Utebo-based grain storage specialist, commemorates its 50th anniversary this year in steel silo manufacturing. Acquired by Sweden's Tornum Group in 2023, the company now combines its engineering expertise with advanced grain drying technologies to offer complete storage solutions.

CEO Alberto Baena

"We've spent five decades focused on one thing – helping our customers store grain safely," said CEO Alberto Baena. "Reliability, innovation and a renowned engineering expertise have been the key stones of our success." The company's modular silo designs, ranging from 8 to 25,000 cubic meters, feature durable steel construction and advanced aeration systems for optimal grain preservation.

Founded in 1975 as Silos Metálicos de Zaragoza, Simeza has achieved several milestones including technological upgrades in 2000, facility expansion in 2007, and acquisition by Petkus Engineering in 2016. The company maintains EU standards (UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012 certification) while serving agricultural and industrial clients worldwide.

Simeza continues expanding internationally while preserving its Spanish manufacturing base in Utebo, where it employs dozens of workers.
