Innovafeed, in collaboration with ADM, unveils its North American Insect Innovation Center in Decatur, Illinois, marking a significant move in the feed industry. The strategic location, coupled with sustainable practices, promises a transformative impact on animal and pet nutrition.
In a pioneering endeavor, Innovafeed inaugurated its North American Insect Innovation Center (NAIIC) in Decatur, Illinois, signaling its expansion into the U.S. market. This move, in partnership with ADM, underscores a commitment to sustainable sourcing and innovative solutions in the feed industry. The center, strategically positioned in the heart of the Midwest corn belt, leverages ADM’s corn by-products to fuel the production of insect protein derived from Hermetia Illucens.
Clément Ray, CEO of Innovafeed, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “ADM’s corn by-products are a rich resource that we will leverage to fuel our black soldier fly production. At the same time, this circular process will present a tangible solution to contribute to our Mission and the US Department of Energy’s objectives of decarbonizing the industrial sector.”
The initiative has garnered praise from Governor JB Pritzker, who emphasized Illinois's commitment to innovation and sustainability. Innovafeed’s expansion aligns with the state's vision of fostering economic growth through forward-thinking agricultural practices.
The NAIIC, expected to generate job opportunities and bolster the local economy, is a testament to Innovafeed’s dedication to sustainability and innovation. With its track record of securing commercial contracts and accolades for its contributions to pet sustainability, Innovafeed is poised to make a significant impact on the feed industry in North America.
