Franco Garbelotto
FEDIAF has appointed Franco Garbelotto as Deputy Secretary General, effective 1 January 2026, while he continues to serve as Public Affairs and Communications Manager. In this expanded role, Garbelotto will support the Secretary General in strategic management, coordination of Secretariat activities, and engagement with EU institutions and key stakeholders.
Garbelotto has been a central figure in strengthening FEDIAF’s advocacy and visibility in Brussels. He has led public affairs and communications work across major regulatory dossiers, while improving coordination with national member associations, partner organizations and EU policymakers. The appointment underlines the federation’s focus on continuity, institutional memory and closer alignment between policy, technical expertise and communications.
As Deputy Secretary General, Garbelotto will work with the Secretariat team to advance FEDIAF’s priorities, including the promotion of safe and nutritious pet food, responsible pet ownership, and sustainability across the pet food value chain. These priorities increasingly intersect with broader feed-industry issues such as raw material sourcing, additives, safety standards and environmental performance.
The federation was founded in 1958 and is in Brussels.
