FEFAC’s 71st General Assembly, held on 19 May 2026 in Bucharest, Romania, elected Mr. Nicolas Coudry-Mesny as its new President for the 2026-2029 term. Coudry-Mesny, a graduate of ESIAE Business School, holds a Master’s degree in Food Marketing from Toulouse Business School and currently serves as procurement manager at MAISADOUR, France. He is also President of EUROFAC, the association representing the French compound feed and premix industry at European level.
Nicolas Coudry-Mesny said he looks forward to representing the interests of European compound feed and premix manufacturers “in these unprecedented times,” which he described as being marked by “the end of the rules-based global trade order” driven by geopolitical tensions and power politics, with significant implications for the resilience and competitiveness of the EU livestock and aquaculture value chain.
FEFAC welcomed and supported the European Commission’s efforts to stabilize trade relations, promote trade diversification, and strengthen the EU’s economic security by addressing strategic dependencies in protein and feed additive supply chains. The association stated that it will proactively contribute to the forthcoming EU protein plan, aiming to increase the EU’s strategic autonomy in protein feed production.
It added that the industry has demonstrated its capacity to deliver practical feed solutions, support circularity, and reduce emissions linked to EU livestock and aquaculture production, in the context of the livestock workstream launched by EU Farm Commissioner Christophe Hansen in May 2025, which will underpin the forthcoming EU Livestock Strategy.
As FEFAC President, Coudry-Mesny said he will work to promote the uptake of innovative and smart feed solutions, integrating them into best-practice recommendations and supporting the transition toward more resilient production systems, in line with FEFAC’s key recommendations submitted at EBAF level and within EU livestock consultations.
