Imas completes another feed mill project in Kazakhstan

11 June 20254 min reading

Imas, the leading Turkish manufacturer and turnkey solution provider in grain and feed milling technologies, completed a greenfield feed mill project for Nurym Group in Kazakhstan. The facility started operations in April 2025, the feed mill comes forward with its high production capacity of 20 tons per hour (TPH) making it one of the largest feed mills in the country and the surrounding region.

Just like in grain milling technologies, Imas stands out as an industry leader in feed technologies with its production power, experience, and global activities. The company distinguishes itself with a comprehensive range of machines, equipment, and process solutions tailored to meet the needs of the industry.

Today Imas produces the complete range of feed milling machinery and builds grain and feed milling projects worldwide with over 35 years of know-how and experience in the industry.

Nurmy Group’s new feed mill in Kazakhstan has been recently completed as a turnkey project by Imas, including all plant design, process engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and training services.

Not only was the complete range of machinery and equipment supplied, but the steel construction building of the plant was also completely designed, manufactured, and erected by Imas within the project scope. Imas team has provided user training not only on machine and plant performance, but also on the use of the feed laboratory equipment available at the facility.

PLANT DETAILS

Nurmy Group’s new feed mill is located in Shymkent city of Kazakhstan. Operating 24 hours a day in 3 shifts, the feed mill produces approximately 480 tons of high-quality combined feed every day for a wide range of animals including, cattle, poultry, and small ruminants.

The process flow in the plant starts with the intake system from steel storage silos, followed by grinding of the raw material, mixing of ingredients, conditioning, pelleting, molasses adding, cooling, and crumbling processes if required. Then, feed pellets and crumbs pass through a vibratory sieve, and are packed into 25 kg sacks at bagging stations before the distribution.

STATE OF THE ART MACHINERY

The complete machinery and equipment in the feed mill was provided by Imas, from the raw material intake to bagging stations. Viteral series high capacity pellet press (VPP) is one of eye catching machines in the mill. Reaching processing capacities up to 30 ton/hour, the machine also can be equipped with a unique touchscreen panel for managing crucial parameters of time, temperature, etc. easily and efficiently.

Viteral series paddle mixer (VMX) is another state of the art machine with its efficiency and performance, which has been proven by independent laboratory tests. The VMX achieved the highest grade with its performance rapid mixture tests, based on sample homogeneity criteria.

Viteral’s hammer mill (VHM) in the plant also stands for efficiency and durability. The VHM hammer mill in the plant can reach up to 50 tons/hour capacities. The machine’s special pre-crushing blades and fixed hammer system enables an improved performance.

AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY

Nurmy Group’s new feed mill is managed via a central automation system, which allows integrated monitoring of the entire process from the intake to the packaging. The system provides real-time data on production quantities, yields, and consumption, ensuring enhanced operational transparency. The latest automation technology in the plant even allows Imas after-sales team to connect to the plant remotely at any time for technical support, including assistance, troubleshooting, and check-ups.
