Lezita, one of the leading chicken brands in Turkey, was awarded the ISO 50001 certification thanks to the energy efficiency investments it launched with the aim of improving the environment. Lezita, operating under Abalıoğlu Group, has accelerated its projects towards Turkey's target of reducing the energy consumption by 14% until 2023 with the ISO 50001 certification.
Lezita, Turkey's leading chicken producer, was awarded ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certificate with its investments in energy efficiency. Abalıoğlu Group Food Business Unit General Manager Mustafa Özdil said they will continue to contribute to the goal of leaving a more livable world for the future while ensuring the continuity of their work with the improvement of the environment.
“The entire world is well aware of the risks posed by climate change. The better the importance of energy efficiency, renewable energy generation, and use is understood, the more investments are being made in this area. We have been continuing our investments in this direction.” said Mustafa Özdil. Özdil highlighted that, as Abalıoğlu Yem-Soya and Tekstil Sanayi A. Ş., in line with National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (UEVEP) and ISO 50001; they support the goal of reducing energy consumption in Turkey by 14% in 2023.
Lezita, which will be able to receive Productivity Increase Projects (VAP) support of 30% for the subjects which require investments on energy saving points, has added ISO 50001 training to other on-the-job training components in order to ensure that its employees contribute to energy efficiency and raise their awareness on this issue. ISO 50001 certificate also gave Lezita the advantage of benefiting from the Incentive System of the Ministry of Energy.
