Denkavit Futtermittel GmbH and Agravis Nutztier GmbH plan to establish a joint venture to consolidate their expertise in calf rearing and milk replacers, aiming to strengthen nationwide distribution, advisory services and market specialization in Germany. The partnership is pending regulatory approval.

Denkavit Futtermittel GmbH, part of the Denkavit Group, and Agravis Nutztier GmbH, a subsidiary of Agravis Raiffeisen AG, intend to launch the joint venture under the name “Denkavit MILCH plus” on 1 June 2026. The new entity will manage nationwide sales of milk replacers for calves, including products used for rearing calves as well as feeder and rosé calves, targeting trading partners across Germany. The establishment of the joint venture is subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office, with the notification already submitted.

The collaboration brings together Denkavit’s strong position in young animal nutrition across Europe, supported by research, product development under the Denkamilk brand, and established production capabilities, with Agravis’ extensive sales network, recognized product brands such as Combimilk, Blattina and Multana, and its close relationships within agricultural trade. Agravis will also contribute its logistics infrastructure to support the new company.

Both partners emphasize that the combined structure will enable more focused market development aligned with the needs of German livestock producers. By pooling advisory and sales competencies, the joint venture aims to provide more tailored support to farmers, particularly in calf rearing, and to improve outcomes in early animal development and finishing readiness.

“With the establishment of the joint venture, we are creating the foundation to bring our brands and our expertise in consulting and sales even more effectively to the market and to ensure long-term supply security for our customers,” said Matthias Kutsche. Bernd Fischer added that close cooperation will allow the partners to better utilize innovation capabilities and production capacity while setting new benchmarks in calf nutrition. The joint venture is designed with a flexible structure to respond to evolving market requirements.

Denkavit Group, headquartered in the Netherlands, specializes in young animal nutrition, while Agravis Raiffeisen AG is a German agricultural trading and service company with strong presence across feed, crop inputs and farm services.
