Anpario has completed the acquisition of Bio-Vet, enhancing its portfolio of natural animal feed additives. This strategic move aims to bolster innovation and sustainability in animal health and nutrition, particularly within the US dairy market.
Anpario Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Anpario plc, has announced the successful acquisition of Bio-Vet Inc., a prominent player in animal health and nutrition. Founded in 1996 and based in Barneveld, Wisconsin, Bio-Vet achieved sales of $8.2 million in 2023. The company will now operate as a wholly owned subsidiary, integrating its 30+ employees, customers, and suppliers into Anpario's global framework.
Dr. Nate Haas, President of Bio-Vet, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating, “We are excited for the opportunity to unite our team with a company that shares our values, culture, and innovative outlook to help provide solutions to optimize animal performance.” He emphasized that Anpario is the ideal partner to leverage Bio-Vet’s 30-year history in agricultural technology.
Bio-Vet has distinguished itself in the industry with its Capsule-In-A-Capsule™ delivery system for direct-fed microbials (DFMs) and nutritional products, which now include various formats such as capsules, boluses, pastes, and soluble powders. Approximately half of Bio-Vet’s sales come from DFMs, complementing Anpario’s existing offerings, which include well-known brands like Orego-Stim® and Optomega®.
Anpario CEO Richard Edwards remarked, “This presents a phenomenal opportunity for Anpario. We have already identified strong synergies across the brands, most notably in our approach and vision to develop strong cost-effective, high-quality solutions.” He believes that the merger will greatly benefit employees and customers by creating new growth opportunities.
The acquisition not only strengthens Anpario’s presence in the US market but also aligns with growing consumer preferences for sustainable food production. Both companies are poised to deliver innovative, scientifically driven solutions focusing on animal health and feed efficiency, contributing to enhanced productivity in the agricultural sector.
