Palmira Agro has opened Turkey's first hybrid micro granular fertilizer factory, part of a $20 million investment. The facility aims to produce 12,000 tons annually, with 30% of output intended for export.

Palmira Agro, under Alarko Tarım Grubu, has launched Turkey’s first hybrid micro granular fertilizer factory in Çankırı, making it Europe’s largest facility in this sector. The factory, with an 8,300-square-meter enclosed area, plans to produce 12,000 tons of fertilizers annually, with 30% aimed for export. This innovative technology reduces fertilizer use per hectare by up to 10 times, significantly cutting costs on logistics, storage, labor, and energy.

Palmira Agro's new hybrid technology decreases energy use by 65% and water consumption by 70%, while solar panels provide 35% of the factory's energy needs. These efforts support Alarko’s 2050 Net-Zero emissions goal. "Our new factory marks a major step in sustainable agricultural solutions," a spokesperson said. With this investment, Alarko continues its ambitious agricultural expansion, aiming to become one of the world’s top ten agriculture companies by 2028.
