The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) announced the registrations for the upcoming Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for Animal Food training, scheduled for June 4-6 at The Inn at Opryland in Nashville, Tenn.
AFIA has commenced registration for the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) training, taking place from June 4-6 at The Inn at Opryland in Nashville, Tenn. Aimed at meeting the requirements set by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), this 20-hour course provides a comprehensive understanding of current regulations for animal food.
Led by Paul Davis, Ph.D., AFIA's director of quality, animal food safety, and education, the course covers essential topics, including an overview of FSMA requirements, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, animal food safety hazards, and the development of food safety plans. Recognized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the standardized curriculum ensures compliance with PCQI training.
In adherence to FSMA, facilities are mandated to have one or more designated PCQIs to formulate and oversee animal food safety plans. The training addresses key components such as hazard analysis, preventive controls determination, process preventive controls, sanitation preventive controls, and supply chain applied controls, along with recall plans.
