Yemtar Makina has entered a cooperation protocol with Balıkesir University, aiming to strengthen ties between academia and industry. The collaboration will provide engineering students with hands-on training opportunities while fostering joint R&D and technology development initiatives.
At a ceremony hosted by Balıkesir University Rectorate, Yemtar joined leading industry representatives in formalizing new partnerships with the institution’s Faculty of Engineering. The agreement will see students spend part of their education directly in the workplace, gaining practical skills at Yemtar’s facilities under a 7+1 system education model.

The signing ceremony took place at Balıkesir University Rectorate with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, Faculty of Engineering Dean Prof. Dr. Aslan Deniz Karaoğlan, and Mechanical Engineering Department Chair Prof. Dr. Ali Oral. Yemtar was represented by Deputy General Manager Gürkan Mülayim.
The initiative is expected to enhance the readiness of engineering graduates for industrial roles, while also enabling academics and company experts to work together on innovation and technology transfer projects. Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu underlined the significance of the program for both sides, stating: “As a university, we want to be a bridge that transforms knowledge into production.”
Gürkan Mülayim confirmed the company’s commitment to contributing its know-how to the next generation of engineers, while also strengthening its R&D capabilities through academic collaboration.
