VIV Asia 2025 highlights industry growth and innovation

VIV Asia 2025 gathered in Bangkok and showcased advancements in animal health, nutrition, and smart farming technologies.

VIV Asia 2025, held from March 12 to 14 in Bangkok, brought together over 1,500 exhibitors and 50,000 attendees from 46 countries, with 93% of exhibitors coming from outside Thailand. The event, which focused on the animal protein production industry, covered the entire agrifood supply chain from seed to feed to food.

The Grand Networking Reception on the opening night featured key industry figures, including Mr. Jeroen Van Hooff, CEO & President of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs, who highlighted Asia’s contribution to over 50% of global agricultural output and projected food spending of $8.4 trillion by 2030.

Mr. Puripan Bunnag, Senior Vice President of the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, emphasized the event’s economic impact, reinforcing Thailand’s role as a business hub. Deputy Prime Minister Prasert Chanthararuangthong underlined Thailand’s $200 million Food Processing Industry Development Action Plan, aiming to position the country as a top 10 global food exporter by 2027.

Key themes included disease management, biosecurity, and regenerative agriculture. The event featured technology showcases, the IFFA Awards, and the NIA Pitching Session, which highlighted agricultural innovations. Horti Agri Next Asia presented the Rainmaker Airplane Showcase, demonstrating advanced weather modification technology for sustainable agriculture.
