Official data reveals double-digit monthly growth in Turkey’s poultry meat output alongside strong year-on-year gains in egg production. For compound feed manufacturers and grain suppliers, this expansion highlights expanding feed intake across both broiler and layer segments.

According to TurkStat’s June 2026 livestock production report, Turkey’s poultry meat output surged 14.8% month-on-month to reach 232,238 tonnes, recovering strongly from May’s 202,336 tonnes. On an annual basis, poultry meat production rose 14.7% compared to June 2025, driven by a 14.4% increase in the number of slaughtered chickens, which expanded from 107.8 million to 123.3 million head.

Meanwhile, egg production hit 1.84 billion units in June, reflecting a modest 1.0% decline from May but registering a substantial 21.0% jump year-on-year compared to the 1.52 billion units produced in June 2025.

Cumulatively, the first six months of 2026 demonstrate diverging growth dynamics within the sector. While poultry meat production gained a subtle 0.3% year-on-year to total 1.37 million tonnes across the January–June period, egg production maintained powerful momentum, rising 18.6% to 11.18 billion units. Slaughtered chicken numbers grew 1.2% over the same six-month timeframe to 735.6 million head.

TurkStat noted that the statistics cover only commercial poultry enterprises and exclude household production.
