The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has announced the purchase of more than 2 million tons of wheat and barley from producers since May 14. The acquisition is part of the 2024 Grain Purchase Campaign.
The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced on social media that it has purchased over 2 million tons of wheat and barley from producers since the start of its 2024 Grain Purchase Campaign on May 14. The campaign is being conducted intensively at more than 600 purchase points across the country, including licensed warehouses with which agreements have been signed.
In the announcement, TMO stated, "All measures and preparations for storage have been completed, and all wheat and barley registered in the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) that producers wish to sell to TMO will be purchased. Payments for the products are periodically transferred to the producers' accounts. Our purchasing activities will continue, and we will remain supportive of our producers with all our resources."
The Turkish Grain Board (TMO), headquartered in Ankara, operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and is a state-owned enterprise.
The official statement made on the institution's Twitter account reads as follows:
"Our '2024 Grain Purchase Campaign,' which began on May 14, is being conducted intensively at over 600 purchase points nationwide, including our facilities and licensed warehouses with signed protocols.
Within this framework, we have purchased over 2 million tons of wheat and barley from our producers to date.
All necessary measures have been taken for storage, and preparations have been completed to purchase all wheat and barley registered in the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) that producers wish to sell to TMO.
Payments for the products are being periodically transferred to the accounts of our producers.
Our purchasing activities will continue, and we will continue to support our producers with all available resources."
