As of today, December 2, 2024, the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has launched its new initiative to alleviate feed costs for livestock breeders and feed producers. Barley and oats are now available at competitive prices, with the added benefit of 90-day deferred payments free of interest. Barley is priced between 8,000 and 8,500 TRY per ton, while oats are offered at 7,000 to 7,080 TRY per ton, depending on grouping and storage conditions.
According to an announcement on TMO's official website, sales will be conducted without distinction between individuals and organizations, provided that a definitive guarantee and payment assurance are secured, and a contract is signed. For further details, interested parties can contact TMO offices.
TMO reaffirmed its dedication to market stability, stating, "Thanks to our strong stocks, we will continue to ensure market stability in the coming period." This initiative is set to provide timely relief for the feed sector, easing financial pressures and enhancing feed availability. On October 10 this year, the customs duty on corn, another key feed ingredient, was reduced from 130% to 5% in order to lower costs.
