SugaRich, the UK market leader in reprocessing surplus food products and of the alternative feed market in the UK, welcomes a new Director to the team.
UK market leader in food re-processing, SugaRich, has appointed Bill Hamilton to the role of Procurement Director for its business. Bill will be responsible for the strategic leadership of resource procurement, recovering surplus foods to repurpose, and liaising with customers from varied sectors of the food manufacturing industry to grow and maintain SugaRich’s standing and market share.
Bill says, “I look forward to a fresh challenge in my career as I embark on my new role with SugaRich. I have every confidence in my experience and expertise to be able to contribute to the continued success of the business. I am delighted to be joining such an effective team, and a business that puts its customers first and is striving to reduce food waste in the UK.”
Bill brings more than 20 years of experience with him, predominantly in the food manufacturing sector, with experience in animal feed as well as feedstock management for the AD industry.
He joins SugaRich from Biffa, where he was the Head of Commercial AD for six years. Previous to that role, Bill held the position of Commercial Director at Nutrafeed for six years and was Head of Sales at SRCL for three years prior to that.
Alex Keogh, Managing Director of SugaRich comments, “We have no doubt that, with Bill’s strong background in sales and resource management, he will be a much valued member of the SugaRich team. Having experienced integrated, specialist resource services in a variety of businesses over his career, he brings a fresh perspective and input to our board, business and sustainability agenda. We are happy to have him on board.”
SugaRich continues to successfully source downgraded and surplus foods from food manufacturers and retailers for processing into high quality and high energy biscuit meals. These food product blends are then supplied to the animal feed industry. In 2020, SugaRich diverted 400,000 tonnes of surplus food from landfill, to be made into premium grade animal feed.
