A team from Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Health Affairs Department Veterinary Branch Directorate audited Ankara Wholesale Market. Officials of the team informed that about 4-5 tons of fish arrive at Market every day and pointed out the decrease in the number relatively to past years. They stated that anchovy, sardine and horse mackerel were among the most preferred fish types due to the fish season and cheaper prices, and they would continue to audit the Market regularly. Corny or unhealthy fishes contained in the audits were annihilated and substandard fish types in terms of size and type were sent to feed factories.
