Scoular has acquired Circle S Seeds-Grains' grain facility in Logan, Montana, aiming to expand its regional footprint and provide broader market opportunities for local producers. The Logan site boasts a storage capacity of around 11,000 metric tons and will predominantly handle regional wheat varieties and feed barley.
In a recent development, Scoular announced the acquisition of a grain handling facility previously owned by Circle S Seeds-Grains, located in Logan, Montana. This strategic move is anticipated to enhance the company's footprint in Montana and offer extended market opportunities for producers in the region.
The Logan facility is equipped with a storage capability of 400,000 bushels (approximately 11,000 metric tons). Its primary focus will be on handling regional red spring and red winter wheat varieties, along with feed barley. It's worth noting that Scoular also maintains operations in Butte, Montana, a location roughly 60 miles away from the newly acquired site.
“Our merchandisers and elevator crew in Butte have built strong relationships with producers and customers throughout the region,” said Scoular Regional Manager Brian Ring. He also emphasized the company's intention to sustain and potentially expand the existing relationships in the Montana region, established over the years. The new acquisition serves as an extension of Scoular's operations, with the aim of catering to the evolving needs of the regional grain market.
Founded in 1892, Scoular has been involved in various aspects of the agribusiness, from grain trading to processing.
