Orffa Belgium NV revives vital industry dialogues with its ‘One Health’ seminar, highlighting sustainable practices and the role of essential elements in both animal and human health.
After an enforced hiatus due to COVID-19, Orffa Belgium NV made a return by organizing a seminar for its Flemish clientele, addressing pressing challenges in the animal feed industry.
The theme, ‘One Health’, resonates with the prevailing concerns in the sector - from methane reduction, eco-friendly initiatives, to alternatives for antibiotics. Dr. Ir. Alfons Jansman from Wageningen Livestock Research provided insights on nitrogen excretion reduction in pig and poultry feeds. Shannon Groen illuminated the techniques to test and improve feed additive dustiness, emphasizing worker health. Katrien D'hooghe of the Belgian Feed Association discussed their strategies for a sustainable feed production future.
Orffa's internal experts weren't left behind. Lien Vande Maele highlighted the significance of selenium, an essential trace element, emphasizing its vital role in human health. Aurélie Montagnon shed light on Orffa's portfolio, focusing on cost-effective and health-enhancing products.
The seminar, attended by around 50 professionals, concluded with a networking session, offering an opportunity for attendees to discuss, share, and learn.
