The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) has appointed Evan Dean as vice president of government and legislative affairs, reinforcing its policy and advocacy efforts in Washington. Bringing experience from Capitol Hill, Dean will help shape the association's positions on issues affecting the U.S. grain, feed, processing and export sectors.

The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) has named Evan Dean as its new vice president of government and legislative affairs, effective July 13. In the role, Dean will lead the association's federal advocacy activities and support its policy agenda on behalf of the U.S. grain, feed, processing and export industries.

Dean joins NGFA from the office of U.S. Representative Mike Flood (R-Neb.), where he most recently served as legislative director. His responsibilities included advising on agriculture, trade, energy, transportation and telecommunications policy, while coordinating legislative strategy and working with congressional offices, federal agencies and industry stakeholders.

Commenting on the appointment, NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert said: "Evan Dean brings valuable Capitol Hill experience and a strong understanding of the policy issues that matter most to NGFA members." He added that Dean's experience with agriculture, trade, renewable fuels and appropriations "will strengthen NGFA's advocacy efforts as we continue advancing policies that support the grain, feed, and processing industry."

Earlier in his congressional career, Dean also served as a legislative assistant for Representative Flood, focusing on agriculture, trade, appropriations, energy, telecommunications and natural resources policy. Before that, he held legislative positions in the offices of Representative Greg Pence (R-Ind.) and Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.).
