ICCF announced that it has developed a new guidance document on identification and characterization of feed ingredients.

An Expert Working Group of the International Cooperation for Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF), which was founded in 2017 and is composed of experts drawn from the ICCF founding members, has developed a new guidance document on ‘Identification and Characterization of feed ingredients’. The ICCF Steering Committee adopted the draft Guidance Document and accompanying checklist for Public Consultation on 29 April 2022.

The Public Consultation on the Guidance Document ‘Identification and Characterization’ and accompanying Check list has announced to be open for comments by interested stakeholders until 30 June 2022. Stakeholders have been invited to submit their comments, using the feedback documents.

The draft Guidance Document provides recommendations to applicants for relevant information on identifying and characterizing their feed ingredient necessary for its evaluation. It provides recommendations with respect to the different types of feed ingredients, as described in the published Guidance Document on ‘Manufacturing Process and Specifications’.

The ICCF aims at developing science-based technical guidance documents supporting the feed industry in assessing their products and to aid in the preparation of pre-market assessment submissions.
