Global feed, grain, and milling industries are being reshaped by changing trade routes, rising food demand, climate-related vulnerabilities and accelerating technological transformation. Africa is becoming increasingly strategic for industry due to its rapidly growing population, expanding urbanization, rising protein consumption, and developing food industries. At the same time, this growth is creating an urgent need for modern production infrastructure, grain storage systems, feed technologies, and efficient processing capacity.
Against this backdrop, IDMA’s expanding international partnerships and global industry connections are drawing increasing attention. The Istanbul-based organization is evolving beyond a conventional exhibition into a multidimensional platform supporting knowledge exchange, commercial integration and long-term industry cooperation.
THE IDMA-IAOM MEA-TÜRKİYEM-BİR PARTNERSHIP
The collaboration announced during TUYEM16 between IDMA, IAOM MEA and TÜRKİYEM-BİR is being regarded as a major strategic step for the future of the industry. A key milestone of this partnership will be the IAOM MEA Conference & Expo in Cape Town in 23-26 November 2026. The partnership aims to bring together expertise in milling, feed and grain technologies with international trade networks and strong sector representation under a shared platform.
The growing focus on African markets is important not only in terms of commercial opportunities, but also for strengthening regional production capacity, supporting food security, and expanding access to modern technologies. This approach offers a new model that may contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable industry structure.

TECHNOLOGY, EFFICIENCY AND FOOD SECURITY
Many African countries are currently undergoing a rapid modernization process in feed production, grain storage, milling, and logistics. As populations continue to grow, safe and accessible food production is becoming not only an economic issue, but also a strategic priority.
Modern feed technologies, automation systems, energy-efficient production models, and digital quality control solutions play a critical role in increasing production capacity, reducing losses and optimizing resource use. Türkiye’s strong machinery manufacturing infrastructure and regional expertise also provide significant advantages within this transformation process.

AFRICA IS EMERGING AS A NEW INDUSTRY CENTER
Across international industry circles, Africa is increasingly viewed not simply as a developing market, but as one of the future’s most important production and consumption centers. Significant investment momentum is already visible across the continent in grain trade, feed production, flour and pasta industries, and food processing technologies.
IDMA’s new Africa-focused vision directly aligns with this transformation. Through IDMA Istanbul 2026 and its accompanying international forums, particularly the IAOM MEA Conference & Expo in Cape Town, the organization aims not only to establish new commercial connections, but also to strengthen strategic dialogue on the future of the industry. In this sense, IDMA is positioning itself to build a Türkiye-centered yet globally influential industry ecosystem.
