ICCF initiates public consultation for new feed safety guidelines

The International Cooperation for Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) has launched a public consultation for their latest guidance document, focusing on ADME evaluation within the context of risk assessment for feed ingredients. Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback until February 23, 2024.

The ICCF, recognized for its role in feed ingredient assessment, is seeking input from stakeholders regarding their recently drafted guidance document. This document outlines recommendations for evaluating the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) of constituent entities in feed ingredients concerning consumer safety.

The draft guidance document proposes a stepwise approach, potentially leading to ADME studies on laboratory animals and/or target species. Stakeholders interested in contributing to the ongoing dialogue on industry standards can access the draft ICCF Guidance Document and the feedback document on the official ICCF website here.

Interested parties are invited by the cooperation to submit comments by the end of business on February 23, 2024, via email to secretariat@iccffeed.org. The public consultation provides a platform for constructive engagement and the opportunity for stakeholders to play a role in the development of industry guidelines.
