Cargill has acquired two feed mills from Compana Pet Brands one in Denver and one in Kansas City to strengthen its production and distribution across the U.S. The move supports Cargill's strategy to grow with customers in the ag retail and large ranching segments.
Cargill announced the acquisition of two U.S.-based feed mills from Compana Pet Brands to expand its Animal Nutrition and Health business. The mills, located in Denver, Colorado, and Kansas City, Kansas, will enhance Cargill’s ability to serve both large farming operations and smaller ag retail customers. The deal, finalized on September 3, 2024, will allow Cargill to expand its production and distribution capabilities in the western and central U.S. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“These two feed mills are a perfect fit for our business, positioning us for long-term growth,” said Mariano Berdegue, Senior Vice President of Cargill’s Animal Nutrition & Health Americas division. The Denver facility, which employs over 35 people, is set to be modernized as a flagship mill. In Kansas City, the new acquisition will operate close to Cargill’s existing plant, strengthening its role as a key supplier in the region.
Greg Pearson, CEO of Compana Pet Brands, also expressed enthusiasm, noting that Cargill would continue manufacturing Compana products under the new arrangement.
