Agromey Group applies for arrangement of bankruptcy

Agromey Group a leading feed producer and fish breeder, which is among the top five exporters of the aquaculture sector according to Turkish Exporters Assembly data, applied to the court for arrangement of bankruptcy with its 2 affiliate companies.

The group operating in aquaculture and animal products area and which is one of the leading exporters of its area applied for arrangement of bankruptcy with its 2 affiliate companies. Lawyers of Agromey group applying to İzmir 2nd Commercial Court of First Instance, requested arrangement of bankruptcy also for the foreign trade branch of the corporation conducting the exports along with food and feed company. Some period of time is given to the company as of 15 November for the temporary continuation of activities and 2 bankruptcy commissars are already appointed. The date of the hearing for bankruptcy is determined as 15 February and a reclamation period of 7 days is given to the creditors.

CONDUCTS AN EXPORT OF AROUND 70 MILLION DOLLARS ANNUALLY The company processing fresh cooled or frozen fish at its facilities located in Aydın/Umurlu and İzmir/Karaburun, is suing the feed it produces at its own facilities and sells to other breeders apart from aquaculture. The company which made the İSO500 list is also among the top 1000 exporters of Turkey according to the list prepared by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). Agromey was ranked as the 356th in 2014 and closed the year 2018 as the 227th with a spurt. Agromey, which is among the 5 top exporters of the industry, made 68 million and 870 thousand dollars of export last year according to TİM’s data and according to the data on its website the company is among the top bass and bream producers of Turkey with its annual production capacity of 18 thousand tons.
