ADM and Alltech have signed a definitive agreement to create a new joint venture in the North American feed sector, combining their mill networks, production expertise and innovation capabilities. The partnership is expected to be finalized and launched in the first quarter of 2026.
ADM, one of the world’s largest agri-businesses, and Alltech, a global animal nutrition leader, announced that they will unite their feed operations in the United States and Canada under a new entity. Alltech will bring its Hubbard Feeds and Masterfeeds businesses into the venture, adding 18 feed mills in the U.S. and 15 in Canada, while ADM will contribute 11 U.S.-based feed mills.
The venture will be majority-owned by Alltech but governed by a board with equal representation from both companies. In a joint statement, the partners emphasized that the combination would “offer an industry-leading range of products and solutions for livestock, equine, backyard and leisure animals.” They highlighted that customers can expect expanded product portfolios, innovation-driven solutions and personalized service.
Alltech will retain its Ridley Block Operations, Ridley Feed Ingredients and specialty ingredients divisions, which will remain suppliers to the new entity. ADM will keep its Canadian feed sites as well as its U.S. premix and additive business, which will also support the venture.
ADM and Alltech have a decades-long relationship, dating back to ADM being Alltech’s first customer. The new partnership is positioned to leverage their complementary strengths, R&D capacities and logistics networks to reinforce their role in the competitive North American feed industry.
