Scoular has completed a $20 million expansion of its feed blending facility in Jerome, Idaho, increasing production and storage capacities. The facility’s new capabilities will provide local dairy and beef producers with advanced, tailor-made feed solutions.

Global agribusiness Scoular recently completed a $20 million expansion of its feed blending facility in Jerome, Idaho, enhancing options for dairy and beef producers. The project, which includes a 120-foot concrete feed mill, boosts production capacity by 35% and storage by 40%.

The upgraded facility now offers two key capabilities: a steamflaking process for corn and barley, which improves digestibility, and a pellet mill for producing easy-to-handle feed pellets. These enhancements aim to meet the growing demand for customized, high-quality feed blends.

Scoular CEO Paul Maass emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, stating, “This new investment is a perfect example of meeting our customers’ demands and bringing forward the ideal solutions.” Jeff Ackerman of Bettencourt Dairies added, “Tailor-made feed blends are essential, and Scoular is helping us provide the right nutritional profile to the animal at the right time.”

Local leaders, including Scoular Chairman David Faith and Idaho Dairymen’s Association CEO Rick Naerebout, praised the expansion as a positive development for the region’s agriculture sector. “It gives producers more options for how they want to handle feed on their farms,” Naerebout said.
