ADM acquires PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia

ADM announced the agreement for the acquisition of PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia, a major player in animal nutrition. This move aims to strengthen ADM's position in the industry, enhance premix production capabilities in Indonesia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

ADM, a prominent animal nutrition company, revealed that it has successfully negotiated an agreement to acquire PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia, a subsidiary of Nutreco and a prominent supplier of functional and nutritional solutions for livestock farming in Indonesia.

Established in 2007, PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia stands as a prominent premix manufacturer, offering cutting-edge and holistic nutrition solutions for the animal industry. Their premix production facilities boast complete automation solutions, incorporating intelligent process optimization, and are geared for industry 4.0 with adept project management and execution.

Through the intended acquisition, ADM aims to enhance its premix and feed additives & ingredients (FA&I) business, strategically aligning itself to accommodate the expected market expansion and meet the increasing demand for protein. The acquisition includes two premix production facilities, namely the Pasuruan site in Surabaya and the Cibitung site in Jakarta, along with laboratories, warehouses, and offices spread across Indonesia.

"This acquisition will complement our regional footprint and will represent a step forward in achieving our vision of leading the animal nutrition industry," stated Gerald Wilflingseder, president of ADM's animal nutrition business in APAC. "It will enable us to enhance our premix production capabilities, ensuring that we are strongly positioned to provide localized solutions and customized services swiftly to customers in Indonesia and the broader region. We believe this move will not only enhance ADM as a major player in premixes and FA&I in Indonesia but also reinforces our reputation as the preferred partner for customers looking for full animal nutrition solutions offerings."

Upon finalizing the acquisition, ADM will incorporate PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia into its extensive presence in Indonesia, presenting fresh possibilities to expand the range of products and solutions available to customers. Furthermore, Dr. Pierre Domps, the general manager of animal nutrition Indonesia at ADM, remarked, "Our commitment extends beyond products and solutions; we strive to provide a spectrum of services. We will provide customized solutions and services backed by international technical expertise and support from our lab services. This approach ensures comprehensive support for local production, enabling a tailored strategy to meet the unique market demands in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region."
