Turkey’s Ag-PPI up 18.81% annually in July: Grain and livestock trends signal shifting cost dynamics

13 August 20267 min reading

Turkey’s Agricultural Producer Price Index (Ag-PPI) rose by 18.81% year-on-year in July, driven by strong annual gains in raw milk and cattle categories. For compound feed and flour millers, a 2.47% monthly pull-back in grain and oilseed prices offers temporary cost relief, whereas poultry and egg producers face severe market pressures.

According to TurkStat’s July 2026 data, Turkey’s overall Ag-PPI increased by 2.31% month-on-month and 18.81% year-on-year. A breakdown of key industrial inputs reveals that the grains (excl. rice), pulses, and oilseeds category dropped by 2.47% monthly, while remaining up 23.54% annually.

On the feed demand side, dairy cattle and raw milk registered a 45.46% annual increase (+1.86% monthly), and other cattle/buffalo climbed 40.54% annually (+0.67% monthly). Conversely, live poultry and eggs experienced a sharp contraction, falling 7.87% month-on-month and 13.76% year-on-year, underscoring ongoing structural challenges in the poultry value chain.
