TMO canceled the tender for importing 515 thousand tons of feed barley because the price offers were considered high.

Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced that the tender held for importing 515 thousand tons of feed barley was canceled. In the message sent by TMO to the companies participating in the tender, it was stated that the tender was canceled due to "the bids were not found appropriate". The high price offers given by the participating companies were effective in the cancellation decision.

An average of 270.69 dollars/ton was bid for the 320 thousand tons of feed barley tender opened by TMO on 24 June. Board's 440 thousand tons of barley import tender held on 12 July was offered an average price of 237.16 dollars/ton. In the tender held yesterday, an average of 279.5 dollars per ton was offered, the highest of this year.

CANCELLATION NOTIFIED TO BIDDERS

TMO gave the notice of cancellation to the bidders after the tender. The message sent by TMO was as follows: "Dear bidder, first of all, we would like to thank you for your interest in our feed barley import tender held on 03.08.2021. However, it was decided to cancel the tender as the bids submitted were not found appropriate as a result of the evaluation made by our Commission."
