German machinery specialist Tietjen celebrates its 66th anniversary with new grinding technologies tailored for feed and biomass industries.

In 2025, Tietjen Verfahrenstechnik GmbH commemorates 66 years of innovation in grinding technology, highlighting recent developments designed for feed and biomass processing. Among them is the FD 32 Pro hammer mill, engineered for high throughput and fine grinding, with a specific focus on pet food and aquafeed production.

Founded in 1959, Tietjen evolved from a family venture on a pig farm into a global provider of grinding systems and substrate preparation machinery. Over the decades, it has pioneered technologies like the remote-controlled screen change and large-chamber hammer mills. Today, it serves clients worldwide across the animal feed, wood, and biogas sectors, offering both standalone machines and integrated system solutions.

Despite its international reach, Tietjen remains loyal to its Hemdingen base in Germany, where its team of around 75 employees continues developing custom grinding solutions. Recent additions to its portfolio include the Biomass Shredder BMS, designed for substrate processing in biogas plants.

Looking ahead, the company reaffirms its commitment to innovation with the motto: “We are great at making biomass small.”
