SKOV A/S takes over the activities of the business unit XIO – Intelligent farming from the bankruptcy estate of Sealing System A/S. The team behind XIO are specialist in automation and logistics solutions for insect production and are, among other things, a major supplier to Enorm Biofactory A/S, Northern Europe’s largest insect production.

SKOV contributes to efficient and sustainable global food production by providing ventilation and management systems for animal production worldwide. SKOV specializes in providing standardized system solutions for pig, poultry, and cattle production and has expanded its business to include insect production in recent years.

“Together with the sales company Better Insect Solutions A/S (BIS), we have worked hard to make insect production a business success over the past few years. We have developed new ventilation and production systems for insect production and have learned that customized automation solutions are an essential part of our complete system solution for insect customers”, says Leo Østergaard, CEO, SKOV A/S.

Lately, SKOV and BIS have worked closely with the team behind XIO.

“No team does it better when it comes to developing and deploying fully automated logistics solutions with full traceability in the customer’s insect production. We look forward to an even closer collaboration with the team,” continues Leo Østergaard.

XIO has 11 employees and continues its activities at its address in Skovlund, Denmark. Rolf Tange and Kim Kildahl Poulsen will continue to lead the XIO team, ensuring continuity for customers and partners. It will be exciting to follow the team in its work to develop the new business area further.

The prospects of the acquisition go beyond insect production.

Our pig and poultry customers are becoming increasingly large and complex and are often part of a larger value chain. It is very likely that some of the principles, competencies, and solutions we develop in XIO will also apply to our traditional business areas,” concludes Leo Østergaard.

The acquisition underlines SKOV’s commitment to developing global insect production by offering customers complete solutions through BIS that enable them to establish sustainable and profitable production units – now also with fully automated logistics solutions from XIO A/S.
