Interview: Cemalettin Kanaş
Nutriline, a leading feed and Food additives company, marked a significant milestone in the Turkish feed industry with the opening of its new premix facility on May 30, 2025, in the Ali Kahya Organized Industrial Zone in İzmit, Türkiye. Spanning 5,540 m² of enclosed space, the facility is equipped with cutting-edge automation systems and AI-supported traceability infrastructure. With a high capacity and a strategic location, it strongly supports both the domestic market and the company’s export goals.
Hüsamettin Perçin
As the Feed Planet team, we were thrilled to witness this exciting moment on site. Hüsamettin Perçin, Nutriline’s founder and a seasoned industry veteran, emphasizes that the new facility is not just a milestone for the company but a beacon for the future of the Turkish feed sector. In an exclusive interview with Feed Planet, Perçin, with over 40 years of experience, states, “This new facility is a tangible reflection of our science-based, ethical, and sustainable production vision.” He underscores the critical role of technological infrastructure in ensuring quality and traceability. Noting that production capacity was designed with future demand growth in mind, the industry leader adds, “We’ve currently commissioned the first premix unit, with space already prepared for the second unit’s machinery. The two units will operate independently, ensuring safe production of products like antibiotics and anticoccidials that carry a risk of cross-contamination.”
You have over 40 years of experience in the industry. Can you tell us more about yourself and your company? How does this new facility reflect your personal vision?
I’ve been in this industry for over four decades, including stints at multinational companies. My focus has always been on science-driven efforts that boost our customers’ profitability. I’ve championed ethical and sustainable production models. Nutriline was born as a reflection of this vision. This new facility is a concrete step forward, designed with the highest standards in technology and traceability.

Nutriline’s new premix factory has garnered significant praise as a major step forward for both your company and the industry. Can you share the key details about this facility with our readers? How will this facility be a milestone in Nutriline’s history, and what makes it unique for Nutriline and the Turkish feed sector?
The facility’s capacity is high compared to our current business volume. We have two independent mixers. We’ve activated the first premix unit, with space already reserved for the second unit’s machinery. The two units will operate separately, ensuring safe production of products like antibiotics and anticoccidials that risk cross-contamination. We ensure full traceability from raw materials to finished products. By meeting international standards, we aim to build trust across all operations. This facility isn’t just a win for Nutriline. It’s proof that sustainable, high-standard production is achievable also in the Turkish feed sector. We’re confident in our industry’s dynamism and future, and we’re taking bold steps forward.
During the opening, we had the chance to see the factory’s state-of-the-art systems firsthand. How will this advanced technology impact premix quality?
Fully automated production systems minimize human error. Every step, from raw materials to final product, is traceable. This ensures top-tier quality in terms of homogeneity, stability, and product safety.

The facility’s location seems highly strategic. Can you tell us about the advantages this location offers for serving domestic and international markets?
The facility’s placement in Ali Kahya Industrial Zone provides strategic benefits, with close proximity to ports, highways, and supply chains, enabling fast access to domestic markets and strong support for exports. The production site is just 3-5 minutes from both the North Marmara Highway and the TEM Highway.
Sustainability is becoming increasingly critical in the feed and livestock industry. What steps did you take to incorporate sustainability into this project?
We prioritized energy-efficient systems, minimal waste, recyclable packaging, and optimized resource use. Additionally, we aligned our production processes with international sustainability and safety standards like FAMI-QS.

What advantages does your factory’s storage system offer?
Our automated barcode storage system allows full traceability of every product and raw material. This system delivers speed in inventory management and transparency in quality assurance processes.

How well-equipped is the facility to develop formulations tailored to producers’ needs? What are the benefits of this capability?
Our R&D infrastructure and flexible dosing systems enable us to easily develop customized formulations. This offers significant advantages for both small- and large-scale producers.
You mentioned flexibility in production capacity for the future. Are there plans to expand the product range?
Absolutely. We designed the facility with this flexibility in mind. We’re already working on new products, including functional additives for animal health, natural antioxidants, and specialized blends.
Which companies did you choose to work with during the facility’s development, and why?
For the production infrastructure, we prioritized local engineering firms like Yemmak and Born Automation. Their engineering expertise and alignment with our sustainable production vision were key factors. We trust in Türkiye’s capabilities in this area.
Any final thoughts you’d like to share?
We didn’t design this facility as just a production site but as a model for quality and sustainability in the industry. We want to show that transparent, traceable, environmentally conscious production, meeting international standards, is now a reality.
