Allozymes and Adisseo have partnered to revolutionize animal feed production with rapid microfluidics technology. The collaboration aims to develop eco-friendly bioprocesses, starting with a novel method for producing methionine.

Allozymes, a pioneer in enzyme engineering, has entered a strategic partnership with Adisseo, a global leader in animal nutrition, to innovate sustainable bioprocesses for feed ingredient production. The partnership will leverage Allozymes’ advanced microfluidics platform to create tailored enzymes, beginning with a new environmentally friendly process for producing methionine—an essential amino acid for animal health and growth.

Traditional methionine production methods involve significant environmental costs due to chemical processes. In contrast, Allozymes' technology accelerates enzyme development by screening millions of variants simultaneously, ensuring rapid optimization.

“Our microfluidics platform allows us to quickly analyze and optimize millions of enzyme variations concurrently," said Akbar Vahidi, CTO of Allozymes. This collaboration also marks Allozymes’ first major European partnership since expanding into the region.

Jean-François Rous, Executive VP Innovation at Adisseo, highlighted the partnership's importance: “Allozymes' technology holds immense potential to transform our productions.”

Building on a previous successful collaboration, this partnership could significantly impact the feed industry by providing cleaner, more efficient production methods that align with the growing demand for sustainable practices in animal agriculture.
