Lallemand Names Dr. Mathieu Castex as President & General Manager of Animal Nutrition

Lallemand, a global leader in microbiology and animal nutrition, announces the appointment of Dr. Mathieu Castex as President & General Manager, succeeding the accomplished Dr. Yannig Le Treut, promising a new era of innovation and excellence in the realm of animal nutrition.

Effective February 1, 2024, Dr. Mathieu Castex, Ph.D., will assume the role of President & General Manager of Lallemand Animal Nutrition, succeeding Dr. Yannig Le Treut, DVM. Dr. Castex brings valuable experience to this position, having previously served as the Director of Research & Development for the company since 2014.

Dr. Le Treut, who effectively helmed Lallemand Animal Nutrition from 2012, will facilitate a smooth transition by assuming the position of Senior Vice President & Special Advisor at the Lallemand Group level. In this capacity, he will provide support to Lallemand Animal Nutrition's management team and contribute to the leadership transition over the next several years.

In addition, his product management and commercial experience make him an excellent choice to build on the success Yannig achieved over the past decade leading the Lallemand Animal Nutrition team” said Bill Nankervis, Executive VP and COO of the Lallemand Group. “I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with Yannig in his new capacity.”

Dr. Castex adds, “I am delighted to be able to continue to channel my fervor for microbiology, animals and animal breeding in the service of the Animal Nutrition business unit. I am honored to be entrusted with succeeding Yannig in leading this remarkable team and business, which he played an integral role in establishing and strengthening. I am confident that our specialized teams — when coupled with science-based products, innovation, and our dedication to customer satisfaction — represent a winning formula for success for us, our partners and our industry.”

Having commenced his journey with Lallemand Animal Nutrition in 2009 as the product manager overseeing the yeast derivatives and aquaculture portfolio, Dr. Castex brings a rich background in research and development, product management, and business development within the realms of animal nutrition and health. A graduate of AgrosParisTech in Paris, France, now integrated into the University Paris-Saclay, he holds a doctoral degree in microbiology and physiology of nutrition.
