AFIA's strategic powerhouse, Gina Tumbarello, secures another term on the pivotal U.S. Agricultural Trade Advisory Committee.

Gina Tumbarello, the senior director of global strategies, policy, and trade at the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), has been reappointed to the U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service’s Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC) for Trade in Grains, Feed, Oilseeds, and Planting Seeds. Tumbarello has been a representative for AFIA members on the ATAC since 2014, offering technical expertise and information about U.S. animal food products to the secretary of agriculture and the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).

Additionally, Constance Cullman, the president and CEO of AFIA, has been a member of the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) since 2020.

AFIA President and CEO Constance Cullman commented, “Last year, the U.S. animal food industry exported over $11 billion worth of feed and pet food products. The AFIA’s ability to provide ongoing industry representation to the U.S. trade negotiators is paramount to ensuring continued and further global market access for the U.S animal food industry and our vision for a healthier world through advanced animal nutrition. We are thrilled to continue being a voice for the country's nearly 5,650 animal food manufacturers.”

The advisory committee system was set up by Congress in 1974. Its purpose is to ensure that the U.S. agricultural trade policy objectives resonate with the U.S. public and private sector's commercial and economic interests. The committees fall under the joint management of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the USTR.

Tumbarello's tenure, along with other committee members, extends until August 2027.
