In a significant development for the feed industry, Borregaard has achieved reauthorization from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for its lignosulfonate products as feed additives for all animal species. Spearheading a thorough thirteen-year process, Borregaard has demonstrated the efficacy and safety of its lignosulfonates, paving the way for their continued use in animal feed across the European Union.
"We have compiled a thorough dossier, demonstrating the performance and safety of our lignosulfonates. We are therefore very pleased with this approval, which validates the efficacy and safety of our products as feed additives for the foreseeable future", says Business Director Feed Additives at Borregaard, Tom Stylo.
The approval applies specifically to the utilization of Borregaard’s lignosulfonates as a technological additive, falling under the functional group of binders, for all animal species. This reauthorization underscores Borregaard's dedication to providing sustainable solutions to the feed industry, ensuring the safety and performance of feed additives for livestock and poultry.
