The global grain processing industry convened in Istanbul. The domestic sector, specializing in flour, grain, feed, pulses production equipment, and milling machinery, crucially exporting 90 percent of its output, gathered with over 10,000 professionals from 120 countries at the 10th IDMA Istanbul. Held at the Istanbul Expo Center from May 2nd to 4th, 2024, IDMA, Turkey's pioneering and sole exhibition in its domain, and the world's largest, persisted in uniting professionals from the grain processing industry and serving as the export powerhouse for sector manufacturers.
IDMA, renowned for hosting the largest gatherings in the sector worldwide, returned to its homeland following its successful stops in Russia and Indonesia. At the 10th IDMA Istanbul, held at the Istanbul Expo Center from May 2nd to 4th, 2024, domestic manufacturers of flour, grain, feed, pulses production equipment, and milling machinery showcased their latest products and technologies, aiming for an export target of $500 million. The event, inaugurated by Ahmet Güldal, General Manager of the Turkish Grain Board (TMO), Haluk Tezcan, President of the Turkish Flour Industrialists' Federation (TUSAF), Ülkü Karakuş, President of the Turkish Feed Industrialists' Association (TÜRKİYEM-BİR), Zeki Demirtaşoğlu, President of the Association of Milling and Sector Machinery Manufacturers (DESMÜD), Aykut Göymen, President of the Turkish Pasta Industrialists' Association (TMSD), and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bayram, President of the Association of Grain and Pulses Processing Technologies, Storage, and Analysis Systems (TABADER), welcomed visitors with opening speeches. Dr. Mustafa Bayram and Muhammet Ali Kalkan, Chairman of HAGE Group, the organizer of IDMA Fairs, emphasized the significance of the event in bringing together leading brands from the global sector. The 10th IDMA Istanbul attracted sector associations and unions from approximately 60 different countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Russia, Ukraine, Bolivia, Indonesia, and Serbia, and featured various training sessions, seminars, and events such as the 5th International TABADER Summit, certified milling awards, and BBM Mutfak demonstrations.
