The International Cooperation for the Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) has launched a public consultation on analytical methods for feed ingredients. Stakeholders can submit feedback on the draft guidance document until April 3, 2025.
The ICCF Steering Committee has approved a draft guidance document titled Analytical Methods for Feed Ingredients for public consultation, allowing industry stakeholders to provide feedback until April 3, 2025. The document outlines recommendations for the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods used to measure active substances in feed ingredients, premixtures, and animal tissues.
The guidance aims to standardize methodologies for assessing feed ingredients, ensuring consistency and reliability in analysis. It covers methods for measuring active substances in different feed matrices, as well as detecting metabolites in animal tissues and excreta. Methods used for specifying feed ingredients are also included in the document’s scope.

ICCF was established in 2017 by key regulatory and industry organizations, including the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Commission, and the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF). The initiative seeks to develop science-based technical guidelines to support feed industry assessments and regulatory submissions.
The draft guidance document and feedback form are available for download at iccffeed.org, and comments should be submitted via email to secretariat@iccffeed.org by the consultation deadline.
